Patients and staff can initiate calls from a range of nurse call points, on a number of levels:

- Crash alarm
- Staff attack
The room identity is then dislayed on the indicator panels at the nurse base stations and/or sent to radio pagers for staff who are on the move. Staff can register their presence in a room, allowing other members of staff to locate them and staff can also log their attendance or visit to a room, when carrying out regular checks.
